About Us
Macedonia Child Development Center, an early childhood program run by Greater Flushing Community Council, Inc. is a registered non-profit community based organization located at 47-49 162nd St., Flushing, NY 11358.
Greater Flushing Community Council, Inc. has been serving the Flushing community since 1968. With over 50 years in service, it has a long history of serving children and families in the diverse neighborhood of Flushing, New York. Our early learning program is licensed to serve children aged 2.5 - 5 years. We are a two-classroom program and currently 100% enrolled. We are also a contracted provider of Pre-K and 3-K programs with the New York City Department of Education's (NYCDOE) Division of Early Childhood Education (DECE). Thanh Kim Huynh, the director has overall management of the program and is a licensed, experienced educator.
We are committed to serve and work in partnership with teachers, families and the community to provide high quality early childhood program to ensure a life-time of success. Therefore, our goals include:
1. Providing nurturing, responsive and effective teaching practices to children in an environment that is culturally and linguistically responsive.
2. Creating healthy and safe environments for all children, families and staff.
3. Developing strong, trusting partnerships with staff, families and the community to provide necessary resources for families to build life-long learners and advocates.
